Believe it or not, I remmember taking a test like this to see if I was Dislexic (sp?) Funny thing, but I think I read it faster than if it wasn't garbled. HA!

That was so cool. My first grader will be so happy to know he only needs to remember the first and and last letter of his spelling words and go ahead and mess up the middle.

I saw this in an email once and was astounded. Hadn't heard it was only 55 people in 100 though - sounds like everyone here can read it. Like Joshua, it seems faster somehow... Yet, if only the first and last letter were present, I wouldn't be able to read it. So, somehow, those middle letters must matter even though it doesn't seem like we're using them. Maybe the eye takes in the length of the word along with the first and last letters? It's so weird...

In college we did a psych experiment to see if people could read a new paragraph like this one...I don't remember the outcome though...I do remember I didn't have trouble reading it, and most of my class of 30 didn't either.

Not funny. Spelling is ALWAYS important.
