IKEA!!

Ben, Ariel and Henrik, Dad, and Andy all came home for the weekend! Josh and Shinae live at my parents' house while Dad is in Virginia for work, so everybody was there except Shannon, who we all missed dearly :( The first thing we all did together was go to IKEA! I highly recommend it. Great family reunion event!

This One's for Baboo

This morning I was going through all the pictures from over the weekend when all my family was in town. As I was scrolling through photos, Sophia ran up and was looking at them with me. I came upon one of Baboo (my dad) holding Sophia and Jazi during our trip to Ikea. Sophia gasped with excitement, and starting pointing at the screen screaming "Baboo! Baboo!" Then the excitement turned quickly to sorrow, and she started holding her arms out towards Baboo in the picture, literally trying to crawl into the scene. She whimpered over and over "Baboooooo," and turned to me with a huge frown on her face.

You're little Sophie not only knows you Baboo, but misses you like crazy. We can't wait to see you again.

We LYVE you Baboo!!!

And then...

...someone shows up with popsicles to brighten the girls' day, and bright orange roses to brighten mine. Thank you, Clare. And thank you, God.

The Next Minute

Just when you think you've squeezed every last drop of energy out of your weary body, both of your children wake up sick, sneezy, snotty, and screaming. Then you realize that you will never feel energetic again, but will have to accept the fact that God gives you only enough energy to get through the next minute.

Our Fourth

Swedish relatives straight from the homeland came to experience an American parade!
Sophia's FAVORITE treat... ICE. She wouldn't get up for the candy, but when someone threw a snowball, she went running!

Sew Proud

My newest obsession... making purses. I have a dozen different patterns I want to try in a million different fabrics.

My first project was a "double duty" diaper bag/purse.

Completely reversible

Plenty of pockets for baby supplies AND mommy supplies, and a nice roomy middle pocket for diapers, treats, bibs, etc.

I love my new bag. I stayed up til 1:30am finishing it, and kinda wanted to take it to bed with me. I am kinda proud.

Paypies

WARNING: Graphic account of bodily functions.

Sophia is becoming increasinly interested in... bodily functions. Specifically, her own. So two days ago, I set her on the toilet. She was very intrigued and proud. And extremely cute :) She sat on the potty three times that day. Yesterday, Daddy noticed her starting to grunt and rushed her to the bathroom. She had her first poopy in the toilet!! Then a couple hours later, she ran up to me, grabbing her bottom repeating "Paypies! Paypies!" (Poopies) so we ran to the bathroom again, and she pooped like a champ!

The Flip 'N Flush toilet seat lid (in hot pink) is on its way. When it arrives, potty training begins.
*I resisted the temptation to post the photos of the mammoth poop she dropped and the look of pride on her face, and the one of her waving bye bye to her poopy. I think it's cute, but I don't want to see pictures of your kids poop either.
