Momcation

Sophia, with bag slung over her shoulder: "Mom, you won't see me tomorrow. I'm going on a trip."
Me: "Oh! I'll miss you! Have a fun trip!"
(Sophia leaves, throwing kisses as she walks into her room. Re-enters five minutes later.)

Me: "Oh! Are you back from your trip? How was it?"
Sophia: "There were kids all over me."
Me: "Ooooh, yep. Sounds about right."

"Sick"

Sophia, running to me with the thermometer: Mom, I sick.
Me: You ARE?! Oh nooo!
S: Yeah. I need memometer. (Proceeds to take her own temp.)
S, after the thermometer beeped: Ooooh, I so sick!
Me: Ok, you should lay on the couch. I'll get you a cool washcloth.
S: (big sigh and her best "sick" face): Mommy? I need medcine.

Me: Ok, how about apple cider flavored medicine?
S, pathetically: Yeaaah.

S: Mommy, I still sick. I need more medcine.
Me: Ah nuts! I guess you can't sleep over at Grandma's this weekend if you're sick!
S: Mommy! Mommy! I all better! I no sick anymore!!

Moments

My girls have reached a stage of competitive competition of constantly completing with each other. I quit my day job and took up full-time refereeing.

But then there are moments when all is peaceful and right, and they are just enjoying each other. These moments are becoming scarce, so I like to capture them when I can...

Daddy of the Month Award

Both of these clips were caught candid this morning as Jared interacted with the girls. I ran to get my camera when I saw it. He is an incredible Daddy.

Birthday Fun!

We had our annual fall birthday bash with my side of the family, wherein we celebrate 8 family birthdays! Sophia and Jazlyn were both included this year. We, of course, had to follow tradition of all first birthdays by letting Jazlyn loose on a cake of her own. I will say, this tradition is an early indicator of future personality. Sophia was very dainty and never actually "smashed" the cake much. She poked her finger in and licked it, not much more. Jazlyn, however... I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...

Sophia got a new cookware set, and apron set, and she has spent most of the day cooking up a storm of goodies!

This is the other gift Sophia got, and I can't get her out of it! She slept in her new sleeping bag in her crib last night, and is in it again tonight!

Buds

Jazlyn has been reaching milestones at a rapid pace these days. She finally cut her two bottom teeth last week, learned how to crawl, and how to pull herself up on things. It is very common now to find her standing up playing.

Sophia has really started to enjoy playing with Jazlyn now too. She loves to play peek-a-boo with her little sister, share any treats or juice with her, tackle her, and give her kisses. Jazlyn adores Sophia, and always giggles with delight when Sophia plays with her. It is so sweet to watch them together. It makes me so happy to see the love they already have for eachother, and the bond that is forming.

Push me Jazi!

Boo Jazi!

Pimp My Ride

This thing is no joke. It has two seats facing eachother, seatbelts, and 4 cup holders. This is not your mom's Radio Flyer.
