I cam across this article today. I believe pill-mania has gone a little too far. If you have a few minutes, read through the article and let me know what you think.
I actually just read about this in a different article. Apparently, there is no harm to the body by not having a monthly blood-shed, because the pill, supposedly, stops ovulation altogether. I learned that in the '50s when they were inventing the bc pill, they added a week of placebo so that women would feel more comfortable, not, as I believed previously, to shed an un-used egg. I have absolutely no idea if this is true, and the idea of not having a regular cycle seems a little strange and not something I am eager to try.
I just read this as well. Where do I start? With the OB/GYN that said that we weren't MEANT to have 13 peroids a year? Who made her the decider of such things? Good grief. I understand if women have debilitating periods, but I am afraid this is going to be marketed to young, healthy women. What will be the results of this unfortunate FDA decision in ten years?
See that is what I am afraid of too. This is in the trial stages right now, and who knows what we are doing to our future generation. What if they discover 10 years down the road that women are having an even more difficult time getting pregnant than now, or are even becoming sterile. Or perhaps this would cause some other bodily function to fail. I am just saying that God gave us a regular cycle... it is good and natural to have a period. We have become a culture of comfort.
