Girly Giggles
We tried to capture Jazlyn's adorable giggle, but of course by the time I got the camera and started recording, Daddy suddenly lost his humorous appeal. He was just a little bit funny still.
Hidden Talent
I had the chance to spend an evening with some girl friends this week, and we played a game that revealed some hidden talent. Sarah's was by far the most impressive.

Dear Mother,
Please take note. If you are going to pump and give me a bottle, pleeease heat it to the correct
temperature. The correct temperature, in case you forgot, is 98.5 degrees. Not 98 degrees. Not 99 degrees. 98.5. Just a friendly reminder. But don't worry, Mom, if you should ever forget and slip up again, I will be sure to let you know.
With all my love,
Your most darling Jazlyn

The Longest Hour

Dearest Husband,
There is no hour in the day that lasts longer than 2pm-3pm, as I await your arrival from work. Mysteriously, during this hour, the minutes multiply by three. Our precious daughters, young as they are, somehow understand the weight of this hour as well (no pun intended). Everyday, they cry in unison from 2:01pm until the moment you walk through the door, when they magically return to their natural angel state.
So today, when you walk through that door, know that three girls adore you and have been awaiting your arrival for a long time. (Oh, and that the biggest one needs an extra long hug.) We will always be here waiting for you, My Love.
Love,
Your Loving Wife

Magic Pill
CAUTION: The word breast is used in this post. Several times.
Fenugreek was recommended to me for my on-going milk supply issues to give me a natural boost. So I looked it up. Who WOULDN'T want to take this magic pill?
Little Known Uses of Fenugreek
Fenugreek has an age old reputation as a breast enlarger and contains diosgenin which is used to make synthetic estrogen and has been shown to promote the growth of breast cells. You can drink fenugreek as a tea, use it in yogurt, applesauce or soups, or make a light mixture with any lotion and massage it directly into the breasts. It may also aid in increasing sexual desire in women as well as increasing breast beauty and health. Fenugreek contains choline which may aid the thinking process, and antioxidants that slow aging and help prevent disease. It is also helpful in calming PMS and symptoms of menopause. Fenugreek is also considered to be an aphrodiasiac and rejuvenator.

New Year's Resolution
One night, a couple of weeks ago, we were laying in bed talking before falling asleep. The things that are said in those before-bed conversations can be dangerous! I mentioned to my darling husband how I had secretly always wanted to dye my hair blue, just for fun, but had never had the guts to follow through. He let out a little laugh and said, "If you dye your hair blue, I'll bic my head." (Came to find out later he didn't think I'd actually do it! And yes, it turned out purple, not blue. Good enough. I'm not trying again.)

Trust Me
God has been graciously teaching me a lot about trust lately. He taught me to trust in a very visible way this week, and I was very excited this morning to see it.
Once again, my milk supply was dwindling (I have always had issues with this). I began to worry. I started nursing and pumping more often, hoping to give it a boost. The more I tried, the less milk my body made. I got increasingly frustrated as the days passed and I was seeing no results for my efforts. I started guzzling water. Still, my supply only depleted further. Yesterday was the culmination of my frustration, as I was only making about 1/4 ounce TOTAL from both sides in the course of 2 hours. I began to wallow in my frustration, and self pity at not being able to supply nourishment for my baby. Then, the Holy Spirit must have intervened. In the midst of my tears, I realized I had not been trusting God at all in this situation. I began to pray.
Father, I am going to trust you to supply just enough milk for Jazlyn as she needs it.
This morning I woke up and pumped 4 ounces. Two hours later, I pumped 4 more ounces. And so it has gone all day. I not only have enough to feed Jazlyn, there is extra in the fridge.
Wow.
